Joining The Masonic Lodge

To seek membership you must be at least twenty-one years of age, believe in a supreme being of whichever faith you are, and have no criminal record.

In our meetings we have ritual to work. These are based on the old Masonic two part Moral and Biblical plays, which were worked at York Minster in the very late 17th Century, where some of our earliest freemasonry was worked.

Freemasons/Initiates - The First Degree

This degree emphasizes moral and spiritual virtues, and teaches Brotherly Love, Relief of Distress and the Search for Truth.

Fellowcraftsmen - The Second Degree

This degree encourages Education, the study of our ritual, along with the liberal arts and sciences. You are now in the midway of Freemasonry.

Master Mason - The Third Degree

This is the Master Masons Degree, which shows the the Brother is now fully qualified in the Craft of Freemasonry. It deals with the death of the Architect of King Solomons' Temple.

The Second and Third degrees require the brother to answer a few questions based on the ceremony through which he last passed.
